Context
With recent evidence suggesting that exercising and spending time outdoors can assist in the physical and psychological recovery of cancer patients, dementia sufferers, those with obesity and a variety of other health conditions, these free and natural resources need to be utilised.
As re-structuring and budget cuts put a strain on public services, park and health professionals can work together to provide a more effective and unified service.
Prescribing Green Space explored:
- In what way can the two services work effectively in partnership and how can they benefit one another?
- How do social inequalities affect health?
- Does access to quality green spaces affect health and well-being?
- How can parks provide a solution to tackling obesity?
- To what extent can green spaces provide successful recovery hubs for a variety of health issues?
