About the competition
As the weather warms up it’s the perfect time to get out and about in your local public park. Why not grab your camera and take a winning photo whilst you’re there?‘Postcards from the Park’ is a chance to celebrate the public parks of the UK through images that reflect their role in our every day lives. Open to everyone, the competition has been set up by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), BIG and GreenSpace.
It serves to highlight the unique part that parks play in community life and promotes the joint 'Parks for People' funding scheme, supported by HLF and BIG Lottery Fund.
The competition opens on 21st June and closes on 1st August

The prizes
£1,000 of Jessops vouchers are up for grabs for the overall lucky winner and all finalists and category winners will have their photos professionally exhibited at a London gallery.All finalists and category winners will also win an overnight stay in London to attend the gallery event on Friday 3 September. The photos will also be turned into postcards for distribution at Lottery-funded venues and public parks across the UK.
The competition is being promoted in the regional and national media as well as through Amateur Photographer and Digital Photographer magazines.
Judges
Celebrated photographer Mike McCartney will again be judging the Postcards from the Park 2010 competition along with Tim Kerr, Head of Photography at the Press Association, and Angela Nicholson, Technical Editor at Amateur Photographer magazine.To find out more about the judges click on the following links...
