Postcards from the Park 2008
As the weather warms up it’s the perfect time to get out and about in your favourite park. Why not grab your camera and snap a winning shot while you’re there?Postcards from the Park is a national photography competition, run by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Big Lottery Fund (BIG), challenging you to capture what you love about your local park.
Prizes
The photographs will be judged by the celebrated photographer Mike McCartney and the overall winner will receive £1000 in Jessops vouchers.There will also be a finalist and runner-up for each country and region across the UK. They will have their photographs professionally curated for a national exhibition and turned into postcards for distribution at lottery-funded venues.
How to enter
Entries can be submitted on this website, by MMS text message (mobile phone) or post. Each person can submit up to five photographs.On this website

Text entries can be sent by MMS to 07803 851 600, texting PARKS, your name and where you took the picture. The MMS will be charged at your operator’s standard rate.By post
Postal entries can be sent to 'Postcards from the Park', GreenSpace, Caversham Court, Church Road, Reading, RG4 7AD.The closing date for entries is 6pm, 1st August 2008.
Please read our terms and conditions and make sure that your photograph does not feature anyone who was not aware that you were photographing them or who has not agreed that you may enter the photograph in the competition. People will not be deemed to be “featured” if they cannot be identified from the photograph or if their inclusion is secondary to the main subject matter of the photograph.

National Lottery Good Causes invest in UK’s parks
2.5 billion visits were made to our parks last year, and we all know they play a vital role as places of fresh air, sport and fun. But they need to be properly looked after. That’s why HLF and BIG are now injecting up to £160 million into making sure these green havens are even better for us all.HLF has already invested more than £400 million in over 300 parks right across the UK, while BIG has invested over £700 million on environmental projects.
