 Play area funding
We need £100,000 to install a new play area.
Anyone got any ideas please?

Looking for roughly that sum myself!
We are currently pinning our hopes on Section 106 (Planning Gain) from nearby developments - but with the credit crunch/looming recession/property price crash etc... the likely deadline is slipping ever further into the distant horizon...

some companies like American express will arrange a team to build equipment with donated wood etc if you are looking for more tangable help.
you could try your local volunteer sector forum /partnership

 Re: Play area funding
We received £50K from WREN and are holding out for match funding from the Playbuilder fund being launched this week. Fingers crossed.

 Re: Play area funding
Thats brilliant news that you've managed to get the funding for the new play area. I hope the project is completed soon.
Now you've managed to get funding for this project have you got many more projects in the pipeline?

 Re: Play area funding
To celebrate we organised a gate painting couple of days to bring all the entrances back to there former glory with help from the local Round Table and some local businesses we are happy with the results. We have also had a design a gate competition as we had a small gate missing and this will be made (by a local business) with the year on to commemorate the new play area and with a bit of luck our world record for the most games of conkers played simultaneously on Sunday 4th October 2009 at 10am.
Into the future we are woring with some local youth groups to re-instate the skate park and are holding training days in the October holidays. For 2010 we are hoping to either put on a music festival or hold a bonfire not sure yet.
As the park has a mansion house and walled garden which WMDC have decided to sell we are waiting the outcome of this but would like the walled garden to become community allotments.
So thanks to WREN and the Playbuider funding we await our new play area!!

 Re: Play area funding
Nice to see your post - I thought this forum was pretty well dead!
What have you in mind for a music festival?
